How to Live Safely at Home
Posted on January 27th, 2012 | by admin |I have been speaking about home security with many homeowners. I am attempting to gain some insight on the different ways that our homes can become at risk. I asked each person I spoke with if they had ever witnessed any suspicious activity at their home. It could be burglary, a broken window, a suspicious individual – anything. I was surprised that almost everybody had a story to tell. Most of their stories led them to buy a security system. I have learned that Dearborn Heights Home Security is one of the best options.
One individual informed me that he had been home for the afternoon one day, but left to pick his son up from baseball practice. When he and his son returned roughly 10 minutes later, one of his windows was broken and some things were missing from inside. He seemed to think he had been watched, and the robber knew when he left. A different mother of 3 told me that she once answered the door for a person who claimed to be a salesperson. After he finished speaking, he then asked if he could come inside to talk it over with her. She said no thanks, and the man again replied by asking if he could at least come inside and use her phone. Since the man was being persistent, she declined again and closed the door in his face.
We have all had encounters with shady people and situations. Some experiences are worse than others, like the first man’s experience. The information I am analyzing will help me determine what encourages people to get a home alarm system. The woman said she quickly decided to get one the following day.
I have heard a ton of identical stories from other families. We never know what can happen on a specific day. I am certain these people did not wake up that morning assuming something out of the ordinary would happen that day. It definitely stresses the value in being prepared.
